Jan. 8, 2023: Good morning, Roatan! After a rainy morning yesterday that gave most of us between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain, last night was pretty quiet, except for a shower that hit the island around 8:30 p.m.

As you can see in the satellite this morning, we have a lot of clouds to our east at 8 a.m., so I think that through about 10 a.m. we will have some rain around the island. That should clear out by noon and we will have a nice afternoon. Winds are calm, but winds to our northeast are pushing seas 2-3 feet. They should calm to around 2 feet this afternoon.
Tonight the chance of rain will be around 30 percent. Tomorrow, after a scattered morning shower, we will again have a nice day with calm winds and seas around 1-2 feet. That pattern will continue through the week, with overnight and early morning showers possible and afternoon sun. Winds and seas will remain pretty calm until Thursday, when the east wind will return. This weekend we are still watching a norther that will bring good rain chances starting Friday. Have a good Sunday!
