July 5, 2022: Good morning, Roatan. We awoke to clouds and rainy skies after hearing a bit of thunder overnight. Most of us have received about a quarter of an inch of rain since midnight. About midday yesterday many folks mid-island and west got a downpour that recorded between half an inch and an inch of rain, but that totally missed us out east.
After our morning clouds and sprinkles decrease, we will have partly to mostly sunny skies and moderate east winds at 15 mph and seas at 2 feet (.6 meter), increasing to 20 mph and 3 foot seas tonight. Rain chances are quite low.
Wednesday will be partly cloudy with east/southeast winds 15-20 mph increasing Wednesday night to 20-25 mph.
Thursday and Friday winds will be a bit calmer, around 10 mph, with a rain chance up to around 40 percent.
The US model is trying to bring a low pressure system over us Monday which would give us a good chance of rain. Have a great Tuesday!
