GFS model forecast from noon Wednesday until noon May 25.

May 15, 2022: Good morning Roatan! Two more days of quite calm (and hot conditions). Today and tomorrow will be partly cloudy to mostly sunny with calm winds and 1 foot seas. Winds in the evening will get up around 10 mph from the north/northeast.

Tuesday winds will be in the 10 mph range during the day. Wednesday will be 15 mph and Thursday we will be back in the windy conditions around 20 mph.

There is an interesting element to next weekend’s weather. A piece of energy is coming from the south. The forecast map shown here is the GFS, which shows a storm coming overhead and heading for Florida. Two things tell me this probably won’t happen.

1. Most of the other computer models show this going south into the Pacific Ocean.

2. Storm models a week away are ridiculously unreliable.

But it is worth keeping an eye on. Have a great Sunday!
