Feb. 2, 2022: Good morning, Roatan! In the U.S. they call this Groundhog Day. The official groundhog, Punxsutawny Phil, saw his shadow so, as lore goes, the US gets six more weeks of winter. The idea is that if it is cloudy, the spring rains have come early, but of course whether it is cloudy on one morning or not has nothing to do with the weather, but it also is a lot of fun. Here we are seeing our shadow because skies are clear. Our lows are warmer, in the mid-70s. Back to TRW (Typical Roatan Weather).

Today winds should be a little calmer, from the east at 10 mph. Seas stay at 3 feet (1 meter) during the day. Tonight winds pick up to 20-25 mph and seas to 4 feet (1.3 meters). Those windy conditions continue through tomorrow. Winds should calm a little Friday into the 15 mph range. Saturday and Sunday are our next good chances of rain as a cold front gets close but stalls just to our north, giving us cloudy skies, rain chances and mild northerly breezes. Next week looks like a week where we will have 30 percent chances of rain most days. Have a great Wednesday!
