Rainfall for August 2026

We put 7.85 inches in the rain bucket for the month, almost double our average. Nearly 8 inches was common across Roatan, though West Bay, Guanaja and Utila got closer to our average of 4.52 inches. We have had a fairly wet start to the year before rainy season even starts, with half our average rainfall already recorded for 2026. September is our last month before rainy season starts and it has started out pretty dry and the forecast is mostly dry as well. With el nino in full force, we have very little prospect of tropical storms, although it is always possible one could crop up here or there, especially as we get toward October.
