Good morning Bay Islands. Our photo of the day comes from Regina Alpaugh and shows sunset at Punta Gorda. We are mostly sunny today with typical east winds and 3 foot seas, but Monday and Tuesday we have better chances of morning showers and calmer winds and seas.

On satellite at 7:45 a.m. we see a few clouds, mostly to our north and east, moving west. Very little chance of rain today, but rain chances get better tonight into Monday morning, then again Tuesday morning. Probably nothing serious, but we’re getting to where we could use the rain. Temperatures at the airport are giving us highs around 87 and lows around 80, so maybe a little rain would cool us off a little.

This is the time of year we start worrying about smoke from farmers on the mainland burning off their fields. Smoke monitors show most of that is going on on the southern end of Honduras right now and the northern side, which would give us our smoke, is pretty calm. We’ve had enough rain that this should be a better fire season than most. Let’s hope.

This is the perfect time of year to set up your excursion with Jolly Roger Roatan. We get lots of calls about beach weddings and if that is your dream, the next few months are great times to plan your wedding, much better than December or January when you will likely get rained on.

Lowest tide is 4:30 p.m. Have a great Sunday!
