Good morning Bay Islands. Our photo of the day is from Duane McNab and shows a bonfire at Marbella Beach. This coming weekend we should be able to light a bonfire on the beach, but until then we are going to get a lot of rain.

Most of us got some rain overnight, especially in the early morning hours.
At 7 a.m. there is some rain to our north and northwest, but it isn’t moving anywhere quickly. We should have scattered showers today, increasing toward evening. Wind this morning is from the northeast at 10 mph and seas 2 feet. Those should stay about the same through midday before starting to pick up this evening from the north.

We can see the high winds on their way. This morning they are north of the Yucatan, but they should arrive here around 5 or 6 a.m. tomorrow. When they arrive, we will have north winds 25-30 mph and gusts perhaps at times to 40 mph. Waves at their worst will be around 10 feet.
Wednesday winds turn to the west, still 25-30 mph and seas will still be high, 7-9 feet. We will have long periods of heavy rain Tuesday and Wednesday.
Thursday is starting to look A LITTLE better, with west winds 20-25 mph and seas 6-7 feet, perhaps a little less as we get into the afternoon. Rain should lessen in the afternoon as well.
Friday we will look for a possible morning shower and the weekend looks quite nice with low rain chances and very mild winds.
