Good morning Bay Islands. Our photo of the day comes from Jakob Barnard and shows his view of West Bay from aboard his flight from Miami.
Jakob had clear skies and a few clouds on the horizon and we have the same today. We’re looking at a dry week this week, but wetter next week.

Our satellite shows only high, thin clouds overhead. We will be mostly sunny and dry today, partly cloudy and dry tomorrow and the rest of the week looks dry, until we get to Sunday morning, when we have scattered showers. The forecast for the following week had much better rain chances. It is still too early to tell how much rain we will get, but we will keep an eye on it.
We start the day with east winds 15 mph and 3 foot seas. We should calm a bit midday to 10 mph and 2-3 foot seas. Tonight winds will be 20-25 mph and seas 4 feet. Throughout this week we will see daytime winds around 15 mph and 3 foot seas and nighttime winds 20-25 mph and 4 feet. The weekend looks a bit calmer and next week looks much calmer.

This is the 2024 CANSips (Canadian seasonal model) The blue area is generally low pressure where storms can form. You also see the Bermuda High in the Atlantic pushing storms south and east into the Caribbean. We were hit by one tropical storm and had three other nearby storms last year, definitely above average.

This is the 2025 CANSips model. You see a lot more red (generally high pressure) so there is less area for tropical storms to grow up. Also, the Bermuda high is further east. This should generally push storm more toward the US Atlantic coast. This just general guidance. It doesn’t mean we won’t see storms this year. It simply means it is less likely and we should have fewer than last year.
