Rainfall for February 2025

We are putting 2.79 inches in the books for the month. That is the total for Sandy Bay, and for consistency it is important to use the same location. Just under three inches was average on the west side, but the east side got more rain last month, right around 5 inches in most areas. Utila also picked up 5 inches. East side and Utila had an average February for rain, while the west side had below average.

Looking ahead to March, we really start getting in to the dry season with an average of only 3.42 inches. We still have hopes for a storm system around the 10th and after that, a few morning showers, so I’m hopeful we have an average March. Last year March began what was a really bad drought with only .03 of an inch. I definitely think we will do better than that this year.
