Good morning Bay Islands. Erin Santoro calls this photo “Breakfast” as a young heron gets a crab in front of Ibigari between West Bay and West End. The winner of photo of the month for January gets breakfast as well as a free night for two at Paya Bay Resort.
Overnight and this morning most of us have gotten between half an inch and an inch of rain.

On satellite at 7:30 a.m. we see quite a bit of clouds and showers, especially west side and Utila. Looks like the east side is getting some sun. We will have scattered showers throughout the day, but the good news is today is the last day for widespread rain. Starting tomorrow and into the weekend we will be mostly dry. We can’t rule out a small shower here or there, but most of us should stay dry Thursday through Sunday.

We start the day with northeast winds at 15 mph and seas 3 feet. Those should increase during the day to 20-25 mph and seas 5 feet. Tomorrow winds will be from the northeast 10-15 mph and seas 4-5 feet. Friday winds turn east/southeast at 10-15 mph and seas 3 feet. This weekend winds turn to the west 5-10 mph and seas around 2 feet.

Lots of people have asked about doing a weather calendar for 2025 and the honest truth is I didn’t have time to do one this year, but if you would like to buy a calendar and help out a worthy cause, contact Sherry Visker at Roatan Operation Animal Rescue. They have plenty of calendars left and you will be helping out a worthy cause. Also, remember 10 percent of proceeds from Roatan Pets food goes to ROAR!

Lowest tide is before midnight. Have a great Wednesday!

  1. Good morning. I have a photo I wish to submit. I have sent images before to you but cannot find your email address. Thanks. I am Paula from Diamond Rock, this lovely sunset was taken last evening. Venus showed up almost at the same time. I tried to insert photo in this image but sadly that does not work. I will wait to hear from you. 👍🏻🏝️
