Good morning Bay Islands. Our first photo of a new month and a new year comes from Melissa Ricard. She is the first contestant competing for one night of bed and breakfast for two at Paya Bay Resort. A little later this morning I will post the contest for December.
We’ve been mostly dry this morning with only .05 falling in Guanaja.

The satellite at 8:30 a.m. shows quite a bit of rain to our north. We will have scattered showers around over the next three days with 2-3 inches forecast to fall in the period between today and Friday. There will be some rain with our norther on Saturday, but it doesn’t look especially heavy. In the extended forecast next week is looking nice, with only small rain chances each day.
Wind and Galaxy Wave forecast: We wake up to east/northeast winds around 10 mph and seas around 2 feet. Winds will be from the east today 10-15 mph, around 10 mph tomorrow and only around 5 mph Friday, but because of the approaching cold front, seas will be 3 feet on Friday. Saturday is the windy day, with north winds around 20 mph and seas of 5 feet. Those will calm a bit into Sunday and a bit more into next Monday.

If you are a cruiser about to visit our island, you have picked a great time. We are coming out of rainy season, but we still have mild temperatures, many days not even hitting 80 degrees (24C). To maximize your fun with no worries about making the boat on time, check out Jolly Roger Roatan.
