Satellite around 6:45 a.m.

Aug. 6, 2022: Good morning, Roatan! There was quite a variety of rain totals. Most locations on the west side of the island got around a quarter of an inch, but most location mid-island and eastward got more than half an inch. The big winner was Politilly with an inch and three quarters.

At 7 a.m. we have a wave of moisture passing nearby, but most of it looks like it is going north of us. That being the case, I’d give us a 50/50 chance of seeing a shower today. Winds will be from the east at 15/20 mph and seas at 3 feet (1 meter). Tomorrow the chance of showers will be mostly in the morning, with winds 12-17 mph and seas at 2 feet.

Next week looks like a cycle of good chances of rain in the evening/overnight/early morning, but partly cloudy to mostly sunny during the day. It is unlikely for one location to see rain every night, but over the next week we should all get a good shower. Winds will be calmer Monday and Tuesday (7-15 mph) and more normal Wednesday through the end of the week (15-20 mph). Have a great weekend!
