Rain totals for February 2022

Rainfall report for February 2022: We are recording 11.04 inches of rain for the month, and that was about average across the island. This was well above the average for February, which is 5.43 inches. We are now entering typically the driest stretch of the year, the time when the weather dries and allows the mangoes to mature. The average rainfall for march is 3.33 inches, and the 5.88 we got in 2018 is the MOST EVER RECORDED IN MARCH! That means that there is very little chance of a very wet March. Our next decent chance of rain comes mid-month, so that may hold true this March as well. This is always a good time to encourage those who have an interest to put out a rain gauge and let me know what you get, or better yet get an electronic gauge and post online, to Wunderground or elsewhere. It really helps us get a good idea what’s going on around the Bay Islands, and thanks to all who regularly text me your totals. Keep them coming!
