March 1, 2022: Good morning, Roatan and welcome to March! We’ve had a wet start, with 3 inches in the last 24 hours as of 7 a.m. midisland at Coral View. Sandy Bay, West Bay and West End have all recorded about 2.25 inches. On the east side, Politilly and Punta Blanca are both a little under an inch. Sadly, my Acurite 5-in-1 decided to die, so I am currently unable to say how much rain I’ve had in Jonesville Point, but an inch sounds about right and at 7 a.m. we’re getting a downpour.
Chances of rain continue today, tonight and tomorrow, especially in the morning. Wednesday looks a little rainier than I originally thought and perhaps a little windier. Winds today will be northwest 5-10 mph with seas 1-2 feet (.3 to .6 meters). Tomorrow they will be from the northeast at 10-15 mph and seas at 2 feet. Of course, when a rain squall comes the winds get gustier.
Thursday through Saturday look gorgeous, with light winds, fairly calm seas and dry conditions.
Our easterly trade winds return Sunday with dry conditions continuing. Have a great Tuesday!
