Despite rain being all around us, somehow at 6:20 a.m. most of our weather stations stayed dry. Utila is getting a shower and about a tenth of an inch. We will be dealing with scattered showers for the next three days. Most of our rain will be overnight and in the morning hours, but there will alsoContinue reading “July 19, 2023”

The rainfall totals on the west side happened between 12:30 a.m. and 2 a.m. while the rain in Punta Blanca on the east side came around 3:30 a.m. Punta Blanca and the far east side also got a shower yesterday around noon that gave them about an inch. At 6:30 a.m.Continue reading “July 18, 2023”

For much of the night the rain was teasing us to the north, but we finally got some rain to come over the island around 4:30 a.m. giving West End half an inch. Several other locations got rain, but unfortunately for us, we’re still dry on Jonesville Point. At 7 a.m. most of the rain is well toContinue reading “July 17, 2023”

We will continue to have a small rain chance through the morning, but clouds should begin to decrease. Winds this morning are aroundContinue reading “July 16, 2023”

We had showers scattered around the island, but most reporting stations got nothing. We heard thunder and had a bit of rain around 3 a.m., but the rain meter up the hill from me in Jonesville Point got nothing. Only Palmetto Bay recorded any rain, with .06 of an inch. There’s a shower to the east of Guanaja rightContinue reading “July 14, 2023”

July 13, 2023: Good morning Bay Islands. Looks like it’s been Utila’s morning to enjoy a rain shower. This morning the showers have been close to the coast of the mainland. We will keep a small chance of a shower through mid-morning and the afternoon should be dry. We will continue to have these chancesContinue reading “July 13, 2023”

The west side finally got a good rain. It looks like two waves for most, one at 3 a.m. and one that has been passing through in the 6 a.m. hour. Sometimes the rain-cooled air creates a boundary that can create more showers. That is what happened yesterday when Camp Bay and St. Helene inContinue reading “July 12, 2023”

July 11, 2023: Good morning Bay Islands. From radar it looks like Guanaja may have gotten a couple of rounds of rain and perhaps some thunder last night. Let us know in comments. The rain mostly missed the big island of Roatan to the north, though Punta Blanca did pick up .03 of an inchContinue reading “July 11, 2023”

Good morning Bay Islands. Looks like there is a small shower at 7 a.m. just north of Camp Bay. Around 4 a.m. Punta Blanca picked up a meager .01 of an inch. We’ll continue to mostly stay dry over the next few days though chances for a small shower will get better the closer weContinue reading “July 10, 2023”
