Good morning Bay Islands. Our photo of the day comes from Becky Welter who took this photo at Palmetto Bay. She says she keep up with Roatan Weather as a way of going back mentally to our islands when she is home in Chicago.
We have sun and a few clouds this morning and a chance of a shower here or there.
On satellite at 8:30 a.m. we have a few popcorn clouds lined up and moving west over the east end of the big island. Only one location, Carib Bight, in our weather network picked up a small shower this morning. There will be a small chance of a quick shower today, but we should be mostly sunny. Winds are out of the east at 17 mph and seas 2-3 feet. We should stay in that area of winds today and tomorrow. Thursday evening and Friday morning our trade winds pick up, though there is some disagreement between the GFS and Euro as to how strong they will get. The GFS says up to 30 mph overnights and the Euro is more conservative at about 20 mph overnights. These trade winds will last through the weekend.
