Good morning Bay Islands. Our photo of the day is an amazing tale of palm tree survival on one of our many keys around the islands. It was taken by friend of Roatan Weather Duane McNab.

This morning our coldest stations near Jonesville had lows around 64 degrees (17.8C). That was 2 degrees warmer than yesterday morning’s record low of 62 (16.7C). The low this morning at the airport was 68 and was also 2 degrees above yesterday’s low of 66, so we are still quite fresh in the morning’s but on a warming trend. That trend will continue in the coming days with a decent chance of rain tomorrow.

Things look gorgeous at 8:15 a.m. We should be dry today, but tomorrow a wave of moisture passes over and we will have scattered showers. Most models put us around a quarter of an inch, so not an all-day heavy rain, but definitely some showers here and there. After that, perhaps a morning shower on Friday and then dry and sunny through the weekend. Next week looks mostly dry as well, with the end of next week bringing a stronger trade wind.

Wind and wave forecast: Our winds this morning are mostly southerly and quite light. Seas are around 3 feet south side. Winds will be quite calm today and tomorrow before picking up to 15 mph from the east Friday and Saturday. They get calmer again Sunday through Tuesday morning, with seas around 2-3 feet the entire time.

This is a great time of year to think about renting a private excursion on a Jolly Roger Roatan catamaran for your private party or wedding!

Lowest tide is midnight. Have a great Wednesday!
