Good morning Bay Islands. The photo of the day comes from Phil Sikora visiting the mainland, and probably this photo comes form Pico Bonito. A quick Google image search identifies it as a male white-necked Jacobin hummingbird.
This hummingbird and all of us are going to enjoy some pretty nice weather in the week ahead.

On satellite at 8:40 we can see a few clouds to our northeast and some popcorn clouds around Utila, but most of us are in the clear. There is a small chance of a shower this evening through the overnight into tomorrow morning, but any rain should be quick. We will be mostly dry until Thursday when a small wave of moisture washes over the island, giving us an increased chance of rain, especially that morning.

Wind and wave forecast: You know it must be frustrating to the folks on West Bay Beach that they get up most of the sargassum on the beach, but they look out to sea and see another load coming in. Days and days of northwest winds have given West Bay a taste of what usually is experienced by us southsiders. For once the Southside is the place to be, free of sargassum. We will have light winds today 5 mph but still from the north and seas around 2 feet. Tomorrow winds turn to the northeast around 10 mph and seas 2 feet. Starting Tuesday winds turn to the east around 10 mph and slowly but surely the seas will start to turn more to the northeast, giving the folks on West Bay a chance to get ahead of the sargassum.

Tides continue to be quite mild. Have a great Sunday!
