Rainfall for January 2026

This past month will be memorable for what happened on the 18th, when 6-8 inches fell across the island causing widespread flooding. For consistency sake we are sticking with Sandy Bay’s 15.25 inches, though Utila and the east side got around 20 inches. It was a very wet month and February is starting out the same, though the forecast for next week looks drier. February is usually our first month outside of wet season, moving into dry season with an average of 5.13 inches. After three days, most of us have 1-2 inches already.
