Good morning chilly Bay Islands. Our cold full moon last night is our photo of the day from Ken Meissner in Gibson Bight.
We are challenging our all-time record low on Roatan of 63.6 degrees and Utila has broken it with a recording of 63.5. If you have a weather station on the big island that is 63.6 or lower, please let me know. We also have some cold showers around the island this morning.

Here are the 8:15 a.m. temperatures on the east side, that was cooling off a couple of degrees due to a rain shower.

You can see the air mass over the Caribbean is large and cold. Even with their elevation, 50 degrees is pretty cold for Tegucigalpa and one weather station in the mountains outside of Tegus got down to 44. We will be cool today with continuing chances of showers and a north wind and seas staying right around 6 feet. This may be the coldest midday since I’ve come to the islands in 2019, with temperatures struggling to stay around 70.
Tomorrow and Wednesday morning we will see winds turn to the northeast at 10-15 mph and seas 4 feet. Wednesday evening into Thursday a weaker norther will come in with north winds 20 mph and seas 4-5 feet and more cool rain showers. North winds should turn to the east Sunday and next week looks like a more typical weather week for the islands.
