Good morning Bay Islands. Our photo of the day comes from Dirk Yelinek who captured some rain clouds from Carib Tesoro in north West Bay. The east side especially dealt with some rain clouds through midday yesterday, bringing a half inch of rain. Many of us got an early morning shower this morning good for about a tenth of an inch. We still have some rain clouds around at 8:30 a.m., but rain should get less as we get to midday and afternoon.

At 8:30 a.m. we see quite a few clouds over Roatan, but fewer clouds as we look east, from which direction our clouds are coming this morning, so showers should decrease as the day goes on. Tomorrow and Saturday look drier, though this time of year we really can’t rule out a stray shower here or there. Sunday into Monday the chances of morning showers goes up, and then on Tuesday a cold front will stall to our north, but should bring off and on showers through the day.
Wind and Galaxy Wave forecast: This morning we have east winds 5-10 mph and seas 2 feet. As the day goes on we may calm even more to 1-2 feet. Daytime winds through Saturday will be very light and seas around 1 foot, so a great time to be in the water. Sunday a modest east wind and some swell may bring our seas back up to 3 feet.

We are in peak cruise season and if you are a cruiser looking forward to your trip but are worried about missing the boat, check out Jolly Roger Roatan excursions. They will get you safely to sea, with great island food and drink, and back on the boat in plenty of time.

Low tide will be 2:30 a.m. and I’ll be looking for some awesome full moon photos for our Jolly Roger Roatan photo contest. Have a great Thursday!
