Good morning Bay Islands. Our photo of the day comes from Teka Martin at Turtle Beach in West Bay.
Storms formed last night, but they are more toward the Caymans and the northern Caribbean, leaving us dry today. We still look for some increased activity due to the Central American gyre.

On satellite this morning, we see three large storms: one near the Caymans, one east of Yucatan and another in the Pacific. None of these are moving toward us and we are pretty clear in the middle. Today looks dry, though some showers may form this evening. We are still looking for activity to increase as the Central American gyre, an area of low pressure that occasionally sets up over Honduras and Nicaragua, to increase as we get toward the middle of the month. For the rest of this week, it means that there will be a 20-30 percent chance of a squall each day.

Wind and Galaxy Wave forecast: Today looks like a calmer day as winds midday will be from the east 5-10 mph and seas 2-3 feet. This evening they will pick up to 15-20 mph and seas 3 feet. Tomorrow winds should be 15 mph and seas 3 feet. Toward the end of the week they will pick up a bit more to 20 mph and 3-4 foot seas middays and 25 mph and 4-5 foot seas overnights.

Congratulations to Luis de la Rosa, winner of the May photo contest and an excursion valued at $100 from Jolly Roger Roatan. Jolly Roger has graciously agreed to sponsor the June contest with the same wonderful prize. Please submit photos to bookmybio@gmail.com with name and location.
