Good morning Bay Islands. Our photo of the day comes from Andrea DeMille and shows her husband Tom parasailing at Camp Bay. We’ve definitely been windy enough for parasailing and that will continue through the week.

At 9:15 a.m. we have clear skies with a few popcorn clouds off to our east. We will continue our pattern of mostly sunny skies with a few morning clouds and a small chance of a morning shower through the week. This weekend our chances of morning showers go up a little.
Wind and Galaxy Wave forecast: Winds this morning are from the east 20 mph and seas 4 feet. We will continue our cycle of daytime winds 17-22 mph and seas 3 feet middays and 22-27 mph and 4 feet evenings and overnights. Winds should calm a little this weekend.
As we get into next week, there is definitely a good chance we will see squalls, as more moisture moves our way from the east. Some models are trying to give us a chance for some sort of tropical system.

This is the Euro model showing chances of a tropical depression on June 8. Keep in mind that a tropical depression simply means that we have a circulation of winds and those winds are 38 mph or less. So windy and rainy, but not scary. This map puts the chances of that happening around June 8 at 30 percent. Keep in mind this is a week and a half off. Models that far out are notoriously bad, and they have a tendency to overestimate the chance of a tropical storm of some sort. So it is something to watch, but not something to worry about right now.
