Good morning Bay Islands. This morning’s photo of the day come from Jeffrey Hill atop Terra Chula overlooking Jonesville Point.

We are quite wet this morning, with Diamond Rock reporting 1.69 inches, Guanaja 1.72, Utila .93, and most other locations between half an inch and an inch between midnight and 8:30 a.m. More is on the way and tomorrow will be a windy and wavy day on West Bay Beach.

On satellite we can see the massive cold front to our north over the Gulf of Whatever pushing moisture our way. That will bring rain throughout today, perhaps intensifying with some downpours around nightfall. Tomorrow we will have chances of rain, but we should have less rain tomorrow than today. Friday looks like another day of sometimes intense rain. Saturday again a bit lighter on rain. After we get through Sunday we should get drier next week.

Wind and Galaxy Wave forecast: We wake up to north winds around 10 mph and seas 3 feet. We should stay around there today with seas maybe getting up to 4 feet by nightfall.
The big change is that tomorrow morning we expect westerly winds 25-30 mph tomorrow morning and seas 5 feet. Those are the kind of waves that come crashing in on normally tranquil West Bay Beach. As the day goes on they will moderate a bit to 20-25 mph winds and 4-5 foot seas. Along with those occasional showers, tomorrow will feel chilly, with temps in the low to mid 70s. (22-23C)
Friday will be slightly calmer with west winds 7-15 mph and seas 3-4 feet.
The weekend looks windy and wavy, with northeast winds 15-25 mph and seas 5-7 feet.
Early next week looks calmer with 2-3 foot seas but trade winds return for the end of next week.

Sunday we welcome back Lobster Day at Ikigai by Robby Molina, with two lobster tails, two sides and wine, all for $18. A great deal with great ambiance and the best chef in the land. You can’t beat that.

All tides continue to be unusually low. Have a great Wednesday!
