Good morning Bay Islands. Our photo of the day comes from Marcy Schwartz in Calabash Bight.
Many of us got a heavy shower last night around 5 p.m. good for between half an inch to a little over an inch of rain. We are dealing with some scattered showers this morning, but in the long-range forecast things are starting to look drier, especially for the week after next.

This morning’s 8 a.m. satellite shows quite a bit of cloud cover and a few showers here or there. Clouds and rain should decrease as the day goes along and this evening, tonight and tomorrow look quite dry. Tuesday morning there is a chance of showers and Wednesday there will be a chance of rain throughout the day with another weak norther blowing in.
Thursday into the weekend look dry and mostly sunny.

Wind and Galaxy Wave forecast: We wake up to east/northeast winds around 10 mph and seas 4 feet. Winds today will be 10-15 mph from the east and seas 3-4 feet. Tomorrow winds will be from the northeast at 5 mph and seas 2-3 feet.
Tuesday start out very calm but get a little windier, to around 10 mph from the north by evening and seas 2 feet.
Wednesday winds pick up, especially in the evening, from the north 10-20 mph and seas up to 4-5 feet. Thursday winds and seas calm to around 10 mph and 3 feet and the weekend looks quite calm.

This is the GFS forecast for water vapor in the atmosphere over the next two weeks. We are seeing much less red, especially after our next norther passes on Wednesday. That means that Thursday into next week should be much drier than we’ve been experiencing. At the very end of the loop you see a strong norther forecast for around Jan. 20 that would bring us even cooler temperatures than we’ve been experiencing, but that is quite uncertain as it is a long way off.

Low tides are 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. Have a great Sunday!
