Good morning Bay Islands. This morning’s photo of the day is a beautiful rainbow in front of Oakridge Point sent to us by Tyler Bodden. Remember the top five most-liked photos compete on New Year’s Day for a $50 gift certificate to Roatan Oasis.
Over the next three days we should see plenty of rainbows with a mix of scattered showers and sun.

The satellite at 7:45 a.m. shows some popcorn clouds, especially right along the Bay Islands. These clouds have brought showers of about a quarter of an inch in some locations. I think “rainbow weather” is the perfect title for the kind of weather we will have the next three days, with some rain and some sun, the perfect conditions for making rainbows. Rain totals each day through Thursday shouldn’t be more than a half inch in any location.
Friday into the weekend we have our next norther coming, giving us less sun, northerly winds and higher rain totals.
Wind and Galaxy Wave forecast: This morning in many locations we are already seeing winds shift to the west 5-10 mph and seas are still around 3 feet coming from the northeast. Winds will be fairly calm through Thursday, mostly 5-10 mph from the west/northwest.
Seas will be calming too, 2-3 feet today, 2 feet tomorrow, 1-2 feet Wednesday and 1 foot Thursday.
The norther for the weekend will bring winds 15-20 mph, but seas don’t look terrible, at 4-5 feet.
