Good morning Bay Islands. Our photo of the day comes from Sandy Soboy in Johnson Bight near Havana Beach and shows the sun brilliantly illuminating some cumulus clouds.
As I mentioned yesterday there is some uncertainty about our forecast next week, but let’s start with today and most of tomorrow, which should be quite nice. We will have partly cloudy skies with a small chance of a stray shower. Rain chances will increase a bit as we get into tomorrow night. Winds will be light and variable today with seas around 3 feet. Winds tomorrow will be from the north at 10 mph, increasing to 15 mph by evening and seas still around 3 feet.
Next week we will definitely have north winds and at times those winds will be gusty, 20-25 mph and seas will be at 6-7 feet especially Tuesday and Wednesday and probably Thursday.

The big question is how much rain we will get. There is no doubt that the Mosquito Coast will get a lot of rain, but there is some question as to how far west the rain gets. This is the Euro forecast of rain through Wednesday and shows us in the border between a lot of rain and not a lot of rain. The US GFS forecast says that the rain to our east will come our way Sunday into next week and give us a LOT of rain, around 10 inches. Most other forecasts say most of the rain will stay to our east. I tend to think we will get periods of heavy showers because it would be unusual for us to escape the rain with this strong of a norther, especially Tuesday through Thursday.

If you want to give your pet a gift you could do no better than a batch of locally sourced food designed just for your pooch. Also, ask Mitch Cummins at Roatan Pets about the possibility of making up a batch of cat food for your kitty.

Lowest tide is 1:04 a.m. Have a great Thursday!
