Good morning Bay Islands. Our photo of the day comes from Darren Arias of the moon glow over Poly Key, also known as Bennett Key right off of Jonesville Point. Don’t forget, the five photos with the most likes compete Aug. 1 for a round-trip Galaxy Wave ride to Guanja.
We are now entering full moon phase and we’ve been able to see it through the clouds. Rain is around us, but as of 7 a.m. Saturday has not hit a lot of us.
On our satellite between 5-7 a.m. today, we can see storms to our east and west. They aren’t moving anywhere fast. We will continue to see about a 50/50 chance of seeing a squall through the weekend into Monday morning. Monday afternoon through Wednesday looks drier. Thursday into next weekend will have more scattered showers. On our satellite between 5-7 a.m. today, we can see storms to our east and west. They aren’t moving anywhere fast. Here’s the rainfall totals since yesterday. Guanaja is the big winner with almost an inch and a half. Many on the east side have gotten wet, while the west side and Utila has stayed mostly dry.
Wind and Galaxy Wave forecast: We are definitely windier and wavier this morning, with east winds 20 mph and seas 3-4 feet south side. Winds will stay around those numbers today, but will calm tomorrow a bit to 15 mph from the east and 2-3 foot seas. We will be back to 20 mph east winds Monday with seas 3-4 feet again.

Today is a great day to head to Guanaja on the afternoon ferry.

Low tide is 2 p.m. as we move toward full moon. Have a great weekend!
