Good morning Bay Islands. Today’s photo of the day comes from Alani Cooper in Utila. This photo was taken from the public dock at twilight. We’re so glad to have our second ever photo of the day from Utila. Utila and the rest of our islands will be a bit calmer today and tonight.

We have a few clouds around this morning, but they will soon clear out and we will have sunny skies.

Today we already have a light west wind on Utila. Winds will calm throughout the day on Roatan with a south/southwest wind around 10 mph and seas from the east at 1-2 feet. Calm conditions continue through tomorrow morning. Guanaja will be a bit windier, with 3 foot seas today and tomorrow.

If you’re taking the Galaxy Wave ferry to La Ceiba today or tomorrow, you’ve picked the perfect days. Waves should be 1-2 feet between the Galaxy port and La Ceiba these two days. Starting Thursday night and into Saturday will will be a bit windier especially Friday night into Saturday morning. Seas calm with a small west wind Sunday and Monday.

Our chance of rain Monday looks pretty weak. I imagine some of us will see rain, but it won’t be much. The rain chances will be around 30 percent and will start Sunday and run through Tuesday morning.

In our long-range forecast, this is a forecast map for Tuesday morning March 19 and it shows a stronger rain system. This one should give us some scattered showers in two weeks.

Low tides will be noon and midnight. Have a great Wednesday!
