Good morning Bay Islands. Our photo of the day comes from Kfer Jackson in Sandy Bay and is a common sight on the island, an egret, also known as a heron or a garza (you may argue about which name is most appropriate in comments on our Facebook page 🤣). The five photos with the most likes will compete on Feb. 29 for $50 in food at La Sirena in Camp Bay. If someone from the west side wins it will be a good excuse to come to our side of the island!

Here’s our rainfall so far today. We are still stuck in a lot of clouds. This really should be the last day for all the clouds. Today we will be mostly cloudy with chances of light rain continuing. We’ll have a chance of rain tomorrow morning, but by afternoon we should be mostly sunny and that should last through the weekend.
Wind and wave forecast: Winds this morning are from the north/northwest at 5-10 mph and seas are 2-3 feet. We started the day with lots of 68s and 69s (20C). Seas should calm to 1-2 feet by this evening. We’ll see winds turn to the east tomorrow and Saturday at 10-15 mph and seas at 2 feet. When the sun comes out the temp will get back into the low 80s (27-28 C). Winds and seas will be even calmer on Sunday and temperatures back in the mid 80s. Starting Monday evening we will see our next norther. This one looks drier, but still windy and cool. We’ll keep an eye on it.

Did you know that the average high in February on the island is 82 or that the 24th is full moon? You would if you had the 2024 Roatan Weather calendar. Starting today we’re lowering the price to $10 (250 lempiras). You can purchase them at Hangover Hut in West Bay and La Sirena in Camp Bay or you can contact me directly and pick one up at CC Printing in Coxen Hole.

High and low tides continue to be extremely mild. Have a great Thursday!
