Good morning Bay Islands. Our photo of the day comes from Ian Ashford. It’s another great nighttime photo taken from West Bay looking toward Coxen Hole. This will be our first candidate for February photo of the month. We will unveil the prize for that month tomorrow, but today don’t forget to vote for January photo of the month. The winner gets $50 in Carniceria Rosita meat. If you haven’t voted yet, go to https://www.facebook.com/roatanweather/posts/787657080074504

We’ve had light rain through the morning, much like yesterday. But the real story is that Guanaja got a lot of rain yesterday, between 3.5 and 4 inches. Thanks so much to Paiz Sloane and Oscar and Lisa Garcia for putting up weather stations so that we know what’s going on in Guanaja.

We will continue to be in quite a bit of clouds today and light rain will continue to fall throughout the day. We will keep a chance of rain through the morning tomorrow. That’s when the sun comes out for good and we dry off through the weekend.

We got some of those 69 degree reading we were promised (20.6 C) this morning. We will continue cool with a light north breeze. We have 10 mph winds and seas around 3 feet today. Tomorrow they will be around 2 feet and Friday around 1 foot as the light breeze turns a little more to the east. We should have mild winds and seas this weekend. Monday night into Tuesday we’re looking for another norther.

These mild winds make it the perfect time to get on an excursion with Jolly Roger Roatan! No one on the island is better suited to give visitors a great experience.

We will continue to have extremely mild high and low tides. Have a great Wednesday!
