Good morning Bay Islands. Our photo of the day comes from Leo Weiss and was taken at the top of Punta Blanca, near the road to Diamond Rock. It features a common sight, especially on the east end. I think he’ll be able to hold his own in this wind.

Rain forecast: We had a few surprise showers yesterday, especially Guanaja, where there were off and on showers throughout the day. This morning at 7:53 we see some clouds moving in from the east over the east side of the big island, but they shouldn’t have showers in them, as they are mostly cirrus clouds. There are some popcorn clouds to the north of the island that may have a shower or two. We will be mostly dry today through Saturday. A norther starting Sunday evening into Monday and Tuesday will bring decent rain chances.

Wind forecast: We caught a gust of 38 mph yesterday evening here on Jonesville Point. This morning we are at 20 mph winds with 5 foot seas. We will continue to have strong east winds 20-25 mph during the day and 25-35 mph during the evening today and tomorrow. Winds get a little calmer Saturday at 15-20 mph and seas 3-4 feet. Sunday is much calmer with east winds 5-10 mph and seas around 2 feet. The cold front winds should arrive Monday evening into Tuesday morning and could get quite gusty, with north winds 20-30 mph and seas 6-8 feet. We’ll keep an eye on it.

Low tides are 3 p.m. and 3 a.m. Don’t forget to send me your weather photos at bookmybio@gmail.com to compete for $50 in scrumptious Carniceria Rosita meat! Have a great Thursday!
