Good morning Bay Islands. Our photo of the day comes from Stacy Bye and was taken at sunset at Half Moon Bay in West End. Don’t forget the five photos with the highest number of likes on Facebook will be in a poll Jan. 31 to compete for $50 in premium meats at Carniceria Rosita. We should have rain today and tonight.

On the satellite we can see a lot of clouds moving in from the east this morning. These should give us mostly cloudy skies through the weekend and off-and-on rain. The GFS model only wants to give us about half an inch while the Euro and other models say 1.5-2 inches today, tonight and tomorrow. Rain may linger into Monday morning, but starting Monday afternoon we dry out for next week with only isolated showers.
Wind and sea forecast: We start the day with winds from the east/northeast 10-15 mph and seas from the northeast at 3 feet. Winds will calm slightly this afternoon to 10 mph from the northeast and seas to 2 feet. Tomorrow seas will be back to 3-4 with east winds around 10 mph. Starting Sunday night and into next week we will have strong east winds 20-25 mph and seas around 6 feet. Monday and Tuesday seas will be from the northeast, keeping the north side a little choppier. Starting Wednesday seas should be from the east making the north side a little calmer.

Lowest tide is just after midnight. Have a great weekend!
