Good morning Bay Islands. Today’s photo of the day comes from Lise Strachan and shows sunset at Politilly Bight. Remember the five most-liked photos in the Facebook group compete for $50 in premium meats at Carniceria Rosita on Jan. 31! There’s rain around.

We’ve actually had a little bit of rain on all three islands this morning. I’m really excited to make the first rain report for Guanaja. Us here on Jonesville Point and West Bay got a quarter of an inch early this morning.

On radar we can see this morning’s showers drifting east toward Utila. Utila has the best shot of rain before 10 a.m.

But there’s definitely more to come. This rain to our east is also moving west and should reach us by midday or early afternoon. I’d say we have an 80 percent chance of rain today. Rain should diminish overnight and tomorrow there will be a low chance of rain with some lingering showers in the morning. Friday’s best chance of rain is in the evening. We will have good chances of rain over the weekend as a norther moves to our north.

Wind and wave forecast: Winds this morning are from the northwest 5-10 mph and seas at 2 feet. Today will be a mild day on the seas with those wind speeds and wave heights throughout the day. Winds pick up to 12-17 mph from the east tomorrow and seas to 3-4 feet. Friday afternoon winds turn to the northeast but seas stay around 3 feet Friday and Saturday. Starting Sunday into next week we’re looking at strong east winds.

Low tide is around 9:15 p.m. Have a great Wednesday!
