Good morning Bay Islands. Our photo of the day comes from Theresa Rath Spicer and was taken at sunrise from Keyhole Bay in West Bay. Our dry weather will continue today and tomorrow before we see a better chance of rain Wednesday. I’m very excited to announce that we will be hosting a photo of the month contest. The five photos with the most likes will compete for photo of the month on January 31! If there’s a photo you like in the month of January, go back and give it a like so that we can put it in the competition. Winner gets a prize from Carniceria Rosita! Yum!

Rain forecast: We will continue to be dry today and tomorrow. Wednesday into Thursday morning we will have a 50/50 chance of rain. After that, it looks like a norther will come close and give us a good chance of rain this weekend, especially Sunday.

Wind forecast: Yesterday was one of the flattest days we’ve had in awhile. It felt like it was September (the month I always promote as the best month to visit Roatan). This morning we have east winds 10-15 mph and seas at 2 feet. We will be right around 2-3 feet waves and 15 mph winds for today and tomorrow and not much more than that the rest of the week. It will be a perfect time for tourists to book an excursion at Jolly Roger Roatan.

I don’t often like to talk about temperature but look at the temps this morning at 6:30. The south side was a couple of degrees warmer than the north side. That is common, because the sun is rising out of the waters on the southeast side of the island, giving us a couple of degrees more warmth than the north side. The opposite happens at sunset as us on the south side cool down faster than the sunny north side.

Low tide is 6:44 p.m. We are continuing to have very low tides. Yesterday evening was one of the lowest tides I can remember in awhile. Later today I will be doing a video about two upcoming northers over the next two weekends. Have a great week!

We answer the following questions: Why is it warmer in the morning on the south side? When will we get our next northers? Is there a restaurant on Roatan than can compete with the best restaurants in New York City?
