Good morning Bay Islands. Our photo of the day comes from Wayne and Sandy Soboy whom I had the pleasure to meet when delivering their calendar. They said this island off of Havana Beach was rumored to have something to do with Farah Fawcett, so they call it Fawcett Island. Fawcett Island and all our islands should be dry for the next week.

Rain forecast: Some of us got a shower yesterday that got the ground wet, but wasn’t enough to register on any of the weather stations. We will be dry today and tomorrow. Saturday will be a bit like yesterday, with more clouds and the possibility of someone getting a small shower, but not much to worry about. There is a better chance of rain next Wednesday leading into the following weekend.

Wind and wave forecast: We start the day with southeast winds 10-15 mph and seas at 2 feet. Winds and waves will be stronger in Guanaja and weaker in Utila and in the middle on Roatan. Take a look at the next three forecasts.

Here’s the windy forecast for Guanaja with winds building to 35 mph by nightfall and seas to 5-6 feet, with a windy day tomorrow and seas 4-5 feet.

Here’s the moderate forecast for Roatan with seas 2 feet today, but east winds building to 20-25 mph by evening and seas 4-5 feet. Tomorrow seas will mostly be at 3 feet. The weekend looks calmer, especially Sunday.

Here’s the mild forecast for Utila. Their windiest day looks to be Saturday, when a weak cold front, much like we had yesterday, pushes some west winds their way and seas to 3 feet. Today and tomorrow look quite calm there.

As you’re making your plans for the weekend, don’t forget to include Ikigai by Robby Molina. It isn’t every day you can visit a world renowned chef right on our island.

Low tides are 3 p.m. and 3 a.m. under a new moon. Have a great Thursday!
