Rainfall for July 2023

Yesterday’s rain saved us from putting another very dry month in the books. But it didn’t save us from putting a below average rainfall month. Midisland and the west side were very dry in July. The east side actually did better. Punta Blanca got the most island-wide at 6.7 inches. Officially we’re putting Sandy Bay’s 4.25 inches in the books. That’s more than an inch below July’s average of 5.42 inches. Our rainfall deficit for 2023 is now 15 inches. We’ve had just over half the 32 inches we should have had at this point in the year. But it seems like the drought might finally be broken and there is more rainfall in the forecast.
