July 1, 2023

Good morning Bay Islands and welcome to July! We start the month with fairly calm winds at 5-10 mph and seas at 1 foot. Today winds will be 5-15 mph and seas around 2 feet. Tomorrow winds will be 10-20 mph and seas around 3 feet. Monday evening and into the week we will get windier, with east winds 20-30 mph and seas 3-4 feet.

We are still looking for the area of rain right now on the Mosquito Coast to work its way toward us. This will start this evening and last through Tuesday morning. The two main computer models, the GFS and the Euro, give us a good chance at getting an inch or so of rain.

The GFS is especially optimistic about the east end and Guanaja getting good rain,

but I have to warn you that some of the other models such as the Canadian put us in a dry hole. So it is not a sure thing, but we can definitely hope the GFS and Euro are correct and we will get rain this evening into Tuesday morning. It won’t be all the time and there will be periods of sun, but there should be scattered showers. Low tide is 2 p.m. Have a great weekend!
